Alyssa Fenix is a High School special education teacher and Gay Straight Alliance advisor in Anne Arundel County. She lives outside of Baltimore, MD with her wife, Suzanne, and son, Brayden.
Through her interest in photography, writing, and LGBTQ activism, she seeks ways she can bridge gaps within the LGBTQ community and it's allies. She began the "If I Knew Then..." project in January 2014 as a means to better support students in her GSA club. What she found was that it opened the door to connections between strong individuals and helped her understand the vastly diverse experiences within the LGBTQ. She hopes to continue collaborating with other strong voices to create change and continue to support LGBTQ youth through story telling both word and image.
